The Sault Community Theatre Centre (SCTC) is excited to welcome patrons back to the theatre! With a return to live events, the safety of visitors, audiences, talent and staff are paramount.
While provincial and public health unit guidelines have begun to loosen over the past several weeks, the Sault Community Theatre Centre in partnership with the Algoma District School Board (ADSB) will for the time being continue to implement stringent COVID-19 safety protocols at the theatre space.
At this time, audiences attending SCTC productions will be limited to 50 per cent of maximum occupancy. All eligible audience members (ages 12 and over) will be required to be fully vaccinated and will need to provide proof of vaccination. Performers and staff members will also need to be fully vaccinated to enter the theatre. Audience and staff members will be required to wear masks for the entirety of the performance, while on-stage performers will be excluded from wearing their masks only when performing.
Social distancing measures will be maintained and this will include audience members distancing from other audience groups.
As the Sault Community Theatre Centre is housed at ADSB’s White Pines C&VS, productions will take place outside of school hours. Enhanced cleaning protocols will be in place at the theatre which will include cleaning plus disinfection particularly of high touch surfaces.
Anyone planning to attend a production at SCTC is asked to self-screen prior to arriving at the theatre the day of your scheduled performance. Any staff, patron or artist who is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should not attend the performance.
For those who cannot enter the theatre due to a failed health screening test the day of the event, refunds will be available by calling the box office at (705-945-7299).
Audience members are reminded to leave extra time when attending events to allow for additional screening and protocols, as we all navigate through this new stage in theatre life.
Doors will be opened I hour prior to show time. Proof of vaccination screening will be done outdoors prior to entering the building. Therefore we suggest that patrons dress appropriately based on event day weather conditions.
Safety protocols and restrictions will continue to be reviewed over the next months as the province continues to “open up”.
There are exciting opportunities and events on the horizon. The SCTC looks forward to safely welcoming everyone back to this wonderful community space. Please follow us on Facebook, @saultctc, or check our website www.saultctc.ca for the latest news and events.
